The Effects of Conjugated Linoleic Acids on Cancer

نویسندگان

چکیده

Conjugated linoleic acids (CLA) are distinctive polyunsaturated fatty acids. They present in food produced by ruminant animals and they accumulated seeds of certain plants. These naturally occurring substances have demonstrated to anti-carcinogenic activity. Their potential effect inhibit cancer has been shown vivo vitro studies. In this review, we the multiple effects CLA isomers on development such as anti-tumor efficiency, anti-mutagenic anti-oxidant Although majority studies summarized review beneficial proliferation apoptosis tumor cells, further experimental work is needed estimate true value a real anti-cancer agent.

Biological effects of conjugated linoleic acids supplementation.

Conjugated linoleic acids (CLA) are a group of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) with a single pair of conjugated double bonds. The major natural CLA isomer is 18:2 cis-9, trans-11 (c9, t11) linoleic acid, or rumenic acid (RA). Chemically synthesized CLA is also available, mostly as a mixture of RA and 18:2 trans-10, cis-12 (t10, c12) isomers in equal amounts (50:50). Consumption of ruminant m...

The Metabolic Effects of Conjugated Linoleic Acids (CLA) in Chickens: A Review

Conjugated linoleic acids (CLA) are natural constituents of meat and dairy products from ruminants, originating from bacterial biohydrogenation in the rumen. CLA supplementation increases the health benefits of animal-derived foods. There are inconsistent reports of the effects of dietary CLA on chicken’s performance; however, the majority of previous reports cite anti-lipogenic effects of CLA....

Update on Conjugated Linoleic Acids (cla)

The CLA story began with the discovery by Pariza and co-workers that fat extract from ruminants contained compounds that possessed anticarcinogenic activity. They subsequently identified these compounds as conjugated dienoic isomers of linoleic acid and coined the term conjugated linoleic acid or CLA (see review 1). Over the last decade the published research on the biology of CLA has increased...

Cytotoxic effects of conjugated linoleic acids on human hepatoma cancer cells (HepG2)

Conjugated linoleic acids (CLAs) are group of polyunsaturated fatty acids that attract considerable attention due to their anticarcinogenic effects. In this study, the viability, apoptosis and cell cycle status of human hepatoma cells (HepG2) following treatment with cis-9,trans-11(c9,t11), trans-10,cis-12 (t10,c12) and mixed isomers of CLA were investigated. Cells were grown routinely on RPMI ...

Biological effects of conjugated linoleic acids in health and disease.

Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is a mixture of positional and geometric isomers of octadecadienoic acid [linoleic acid (LA), 18:2n-6] commonly found in beef, lamb and dairy products. The most abundant isomer of CLA in nature is the cis-9, trans-11 (c9t11) isomer. Commercially available CLA is usually a 1:1 mixture of c9t11 and trans-10, cis-12 (t10c12) isomers with other isomers as minor compon...
